Medical/Dental Clinics

General Information:

Our ministry partners are Ivan and Carina Laray of the Presbyterian Church of Manaus, ministry directors for the Black River. They use medical and dental boats to help relieve the suffering of the ribeirinhos, the people who live along the rivers, to earn the right to be heard. Our teams live on one of the boats for a week, treating people in a new village each day, sharing the gospel and discipling new believers as part of our worship.

While clinics are used to reach the villages, non-medical team members are also needed on each missionary journey to make door-to-door visits in each village, to assist with children's ministry, women's ministry, men's ministry, sports ministry, and to paint houses in disrepair.

New ministry efforts include 1) a partnership with a second ministry that ministers to those coming out of addiction and/or the prison system, training them for an abundant life in Christ and ministry to others and 2) recruiting and training new ministry leaders at the Centro de Treinamento para Missionarios for the ministry needs on the Black River.
